Everything you need to know about SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR's #RRR
day fans have been waiting for is finally here for director SS Rajamouli revealed key details of his upcoming film #RRR with Ram Charan and Jr NTR!
Holding a press meet in Hyderabad on Thursday, the director clarified everything many have been speculating about for the last few days, including the release date of the film. The event which saw both the actors and director in attendance saw the director saying he doesn’t want to reveal how much he expects the film will earn already. However, it was revealed by producer DVV Danayya that the film is being mounted on a massive budget of Rs 350-400 Cr.
The trio also revealed during the film’s press meet that acting workshops were held for the actors to get into the skin of the characters. When asked what they expect the impact of #RRR will be like on the world, after Baahubali, all three only had to say, “With this film the world will know about Telugu heroes, not actors, but the true heroes who once lived and fought for us.”
During the press meet, director SS Rajamouli revealed that because many had already loved the title #RRR, it is what they will now be naming the film too. “RRR will be the common title for all the languages the film will release in. Apart from that, we will have an extension to it in respective languages, like a tagline. We want suggestions from people to name the expansions.”
When it comes to the story of the film, it reads, “A fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. Set in the 1920s, the movie unveils both of them away from home (in Delhi) before they started fighting for the country. It is a pan-Indian film painted on a large canvas.” Jr NTR will play the role of Komaram Bheem while Ram Charan will be Alluri Seetharamaraju. The director also said, “It is a completely fictitious tale about two real heroes. I don’t like anything to be small, which is why the film will be mounted on a large scale. It took a lot of research before beginning the shoot this film, which is why it took time.” Just like Baahubali, #RRR will have extensive VFX work, something the director revealed during the press meet when he said, “The film will have extensive VFX in it, which is why we have dedicated 6 months to it after the shoot of the filBut even more importantly, SS Rajamouli confirmed that the film will indeed star Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in key roles. The film will also see Samuthirakani and Daisy Edgar Jones of War of World and Cold Feet fame starring in it. The director said, “We are happy to have such a strong supporting cast. Ajay Devgn has agreed to do a very important role. He will be a powerful character during flashback in the film. Alia Bhatt will star opposite Charan. I met her at the airport by chance and pitched the story to her, she agreed immediately. She is excited about the character she’s playing. Daisy Edgar Jones will be playing opposite Tarak. Samuthirakani garu will be the backbone of this film.”
The film which has already begun shoot and is expected to continue shooting till January 2020 and release in July 2020 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and other six other Indian languages simultaneously.
